All matches will be hard ball and played mainly on Sundays but also some midweek evenings. Some matches will be proper cricket, some pairs cricket. Latest Match Report

1st XI – Season Report – 2025

We ended the 2024 season talking about how to improve on our 4th-place finish. The message was clear – consistency as a team, turning up week after week as a set and motivated 11. At the end of 2025, after four captains and 28 players representing the 1s, it’s fair to say we didn’t totally […]

Girls U10-U12 Match Reports

2nd XI – Season Report – 2025

The 2nd XI had a fantastic season in 2025, finishing ‘best of the rest’ in 3rd place in what we predicted would be the highest standard of cricket the 2nd XI had played in. This came following the restructuring of the Surrey Championship leagues which placed us into Division 3 West consisting of some familiar […]

3rd XI – Season Report – 2025

The 3rd XI enjoyed a superb 2025 campaign, securing promotion and finishing just one win shy of the league title. The season began shakily, with narrow defeats to Sunbury and Shepperton, both of which were lost in the final five overs. However, the side showed outstanding resilience to bounce back and win the next seven […]

4th XI – Season Report – 2025

Promotion was secured, as runners up, on the final Saturday of the season. However, 4 games out we were top of the league with the league championship in our own hands but a couple of poor performances against Sunbury and Hampton Hill resulted in the need to win the final game. It was a season […]

5th XI – Season Report – 2025

2025 was another successful season for Esher 5s, once again providing a pathway for talented junior cricketers to experience senior league cricket. Also providing the opportunity to entice more experienced gentlemen back to the allures of the game. The 2025 campaign ended in a well-deserved promotion into a higher division for the second successive year, […]

1st XI – Season Report – 2023

1st XI – 2023 Season Report (Will Edwards) Overall, this was a very mixed season for the first team. Despite the lack of pre-season due to the weather, a sign of things to come, the team were well set to make a real challenge for top spot in the league.  A wash out against Weybridge […]

2nd XI – Season Report – 2023

2nd XI – 2023 Season Report (Dan Taylor) It’s very hard to sum up a season like this. At the start the aims of the team were to challenge for the title and be a tough side to play against. Then at the halfway stage things were looking bleak with us languishing at the bottom […]

3rd XI – Season Report – 2023

3rd XI – 2023 Season Report (Dan Dickenson) All in all, 2023 season for the 3rd eleven was strong. Missing out to promotion to the premiership by just 6 points. The beauty of captaining this team is watching the incredible young talent we have at the club contribute to positive results. Of course, the reliable senior players that […]

4th XI – Season Report – 2023

4th XI – 2023 Season Report (Chris Burton) 2023 had its ups and downs for the Esher 4th team, finishing in 4th place in the league with 9 wins and 5 losses, wondering what may have been with a drier summer, having suffered 4 rained off fixtures and being 2 wins from our third promotion in a row. In […]

5th XI – Season report – 2023

5th XI  – 2023 Season report (Gareth Narinesingh) Esher 5s finished the Div 6 West 2023 season in 5th place out of 12 league teams, with 8 wins. This is a consistent performance with our 2022 season when we also finished 5th with 8 wins. Like 2022, we struggled with consistent availability in the first half of the […]

1st XI – Season Report – 2022

Following a 4th place finish in 2021, Esher’s highest for a number of years. The 1st X1 were hoping to improve on this position in 2022 and believed there may be an outside chance of challenging for the league title. As expected, with the return of a number of overseas players returning, the league was […]

2nd XI – Season Report – 2022

Another solid 5th place finish probably does not tell the full story of the season for the second eleven.  A team that would have finished joint top based on Overs cricket, but second bottom in overs cricket, probably needed to show more than just the dissatisfaction of the group in playing timed cricket.  5 centuries […]

3rd XI – Season Report – 2022

The 3rd XI season this year was one for the books. Having been promoted there was an aspect of apprehension as to how we would fair in our new league. As ever the team has been made up of a great mix of both young and old with many youngsters making their adult cricket debuts. There […]

4th XI – Season Report – 2022

2021 saw the team secure the Div 5 East title in the 4th XI’s debut league season. After some geographical discussions with the league, we were promoted / moved to Div 4 West with the general consensus that it would greatly reduce journey times for those playing or transporting YCs around the county. In true Esher […]

5th XI – Season Report – 2022

It was a tale of two halves of the season for Esher’s first foray into 5th XI league cricket.  Entering a new 5th XI into the Surrey Championship, only a season after launching a new 4th XI, was a bold move and testament to the enthusiasm of senior and junior membership throughout the club to make themselves […]

Senior Academy – Season Report – 2022

The ECB Surrey U19’s Trophy is notoriously difficult to win – in 2020 Esher went into the final having never won it and Andy McCallum captained the team to a historic win. The following year Jack Fletcher masterminded another victory in the final against Banstead at Normandy CC. This year was always going to be […]

Under 8 Boys – 2022 Season Report

It’s been thoroughly enjoyable looking after this Under 8 age group, especially as league matches against external opposition is introduced.  To witness the sheer enjoyment of those playing cricket matches for the first time and their rapid progression over the course of the season has been a real privilege. U8 league cricket is 6-a-side pairs cricket […]
