Your support in any way you feel able will be very much appreciated and enable both this and future generations to enjoy our magnificent sport.
Background
We are really excited to share our plans with you for the development of the outdoor nets area at our beloved home ground at New Road. We plan to refurbish the existing facility and add another 3 brand new nets adjacent to the current facility making a first class environment for adult and junior cricketers.
You know how well used these nets are and this work will help us to continue the development of our youth cricketers and give our adult cricketers the space to fine tune their skills.
Planning permission was granted earlier this year and we hope to have Phase 1 of the the facility (new nets installed) ready in time for Easter 2023.
If funds allow, Phase 2 of the project would be to install security fencing between the old and the new net facility. This would allow us to schedule say U8 girls using softball and U15 boys using hardball to train at the same time in the nets, in a totally safe environment.
Phase 3 of this project, again if funds allow, would be to install hybrid wickets on both the main square and the junior squares at New Road. This would enable much greater use of the grass facilities that we have.
As I am sure you are aware, such a development does not come cheap and that’s where you come in! To date we’ve already raised £40k and we’re looking to raise a significant sum TOWARDS the cost of the nets and security fencing via a number of additional fundraising initiatives over the coming months. Your support in getting involved, sharing details of the initiatives with those inside and outside of the club and championing the cause would be much appreciated.
