Young Cricketer Coaching
For many years the club has recognised the importance of offering a high standard coaching programme for the young cricketers. In doing so, we have established a solid reputation as a “go to” club for young cricketers to join, who are interested in developing their cricketing skills. It’s no surprise that most players represent their school teams and over70 players last year represented Surrey Performance
Coaching programmes are continually developed for all age groups and for individual members of these groups. The coaching team discuss with the age group managers areas that need addressing and the programme evolves as the season progresses.
All our coaches are ECB qualified with up to date child safety and first aid certificates. Lead coaches are highly experienced at delivering structured coaching sessions to young cricketers of all ages. The main aim of each session, is that every player learns from the session, in a safe environment and has an enjoyable experience.
Many of our coaches have also played to a high level, they have represented their Countries, Counties / State and have played at the top level of club cricket. To reach this level they would have spent thousands of hours developing and understanding the skills involved. They pass on this knowledge to the young cricketers.
All season coaching (15 wks) is including as part of club membership – 2hrs weekly coaching – within age groups for 15 weeks.
We also offer our members, the following additional courses throughout the year:
Easter Coaching Courses – Three weeks at Easter, where young cricketers enjoy a combination of coaching, match play and a tournament at the end of the week
Summer Courses – Seven weeks of courses during the summer holidays – bookable daily
Winter Coaching – Our winter programme is extensive, pre-Xmas from Oct to Dec and 12 weeks from Jan to the end of March. These courses are held indoor at Claremont Fan Court School in Esher.
